One of the greatest attacks that will come against us will be intimidation. The primary purpose of intimidation is to keep us "in line" or "in a box". We very likely will never be very intimidated as long as we stay within the accepted norms of our environment. However, as soon as our path in following Jesus leads outside those limits, intimidation rears its ugly head. I believe that intimidation is actually an evil spirit that seeks primarily to distract and discourage the people of God from pursuing His Will. Many people cooperate with it in its attacks on others by being overly suspicious, speaking discouraging words and seeking to control them by withholding support from their endeavors. Those who are bound by this spirit usually have a stronghold of the spirit of control in their lives. They will often do anything in their power to keep those around them in subjection to them.
