Actually, our verse today, is our prayer.  We will be praying the prayer of Nehemiah when he had a report of the condition of Jerusalem.

Today, we begin the book of Nehemiah.  This is a wonderful story of the rebuilding of a nation that had a slave mentality and conquered syndrome.  Nehemiah was about 12 years younger than Ezra.  The two men knew one another well.  In fact, Ezra wrote part of the book of Nehemiah and in the Hebrew Bible, the books of Ezra and Nehemiah are one continuous book.
